Winter winds are whipping through and it’s finally feeling like late fall! The winter finch forecast looks good this year so be on the lookout for Pine Siskins and Redpolls to show up at feeders and in trees with seed pods, such as sweet gums. Some rarer finches could even show up like Crossbills or Evening Grosbeaks if we’re lucky!

November is a great season for waterfowl, too! We will plan some field trips based on current sightings, so look for those on our website in early December.

And don’t forget November is for rarities! We’ve already had reports of Harris’s Sparrow and Eurasian Tree Sparrow, so who knows what else might surprise us?

Some really great bird species can be seen if you brave the November cold!
